Macclesfield Oriana Choir is a friendly, mixed voice choir (4-part; Soprano, Alto, Tenor, Bass) of 65-70 singers. We normally hold 3 concerts annually, with guest soloists, one of them with full orchestral support.
In 2019/2020, the Macclesfield Oriana Choir was in its 90th season! And on 8th February 2020 we held a special 90th Anniversary Concert. (See the Gallery for photographs). Full of hope therefore, for a glorious 2020, the Oriana, along with choirs all over the country, were devastated when the Coronavirus Pandemic forced us abandon all our plans and put our Choir on hold. Rehearsals finally started again on September 3rd 2021, working on Gounod's St Cecilia Mass, and we are hoping to hold a public performance early in 2022.
Rehearsals are held on Friday evenings, normally 8pm-9.30pm, in the Macclesfield Salvation Army Hall Roe Street Macclesfield. If you are interested, you can email us via the contact form on the Contacts page, or phone any of the contacts on that page.

Our priority is the health and safety of our choir members. We are still taking some precautions against the Corona Virus, including the use of hand gel before entering the rehearsal room and increased ventilation. To safeguard our members, we would prefer attendees to have been double jabbed, and we request that if members have any symptons, they take a lateral flow test before each week's rehearsal.
To mark 90 years of choral singing in Macclesfield, Macclesfield Oriana Choir held a celebratory concert on 8th February 2020. Music included choral and solo performances from works by Mozart, Bach, Faure, Brahms, Schubert, Elgar and Rossini. Guest soloists were Margaret Ferguson, Helen Gregory, Philip Cartwright and Terence Ayabara.
